Background information about 'Magic Forest'

Six albums in, Amberian Dawn did something bold: they handed the microphone to a brand new voice and let the whole band breathe again. "Magic Forest" is that moment of reinvention, and it lands like a burst of sunlight through a canopy of pines. Capri takes over the lead, and her delivery is the real story here — sweet and soaring one second, razor-sharp the next, always sitting perfectly inside the arrangement instead of fighting it. The Finns have never sounded this confident.

Musically, this is symphonic power metal with a serious sweet tooth. The double-bass passages gallop hard, the orchestral layers are lush without turning into wallpaper, and the choruses arrive with that unmistakable Scandinavian knack for melody that lodges itself in your skull after a single spin. Tracks like the title cut and "Dance Of Life" show the band stretching into dreamier, more theatrical territory, while the heavier numbers keep the guitars front and centre. It is the sound of a group rediscovering what made them exciting in the first place.

What makes "Magic Forest" work so well is its balance. Nothing here feels padded or phoned in — every keyboard flourish, every harmony vocal, every tempo shift has a purpose. It is the kind of record that rewards a full listen rather than a shuffle, and it makes a strong case that this lineup is the best version of Amberian Dawn yet.
