Background information about 'Killing Music (Re-Release)'
Benediction's "Killing Music" is a raw and intense exploration into the depths of death metal. Released originally in 2008 and now reissued, this album captures the visceral energy that Benediction has come to be known for. From the opening track "Intro," listeners are driven through a relentless journey that encapsulates themes of turmoil, power dynamics, and societal discontent. Tracks like "Controlopolis (Rats In The Mask)" and the titular "Killing Music" showcase the band's ability to blend aggressive guitar riffs with pounding drum patterns that create an unyielding backdrop for their guttural vocals.
The album continues with tracks such as "Dripping With Disgust" and "Wrath And Regret," each song crafted with precision to convey a story within its heavy soundscape. The inclusion of covers like "Seeing Through My Eyes" by Broken Bones adds a layer of homage while maintaining the album's original ferocity. Guests appearances by legends like Karl Willetts infuse additional depth into tracks such as "Largactyl." Overall, this reissue serves both as a reminder of Benediction's impact on the genre and as an invitation for new listeners to experience their unrelenting mastery.
