Blunted At Birth, their 2006 debut slab of THC-drenched brutality, gets a well-deserved reissue here, and let me tell you, this thing still hits like a bong made of human bone.

From the moment the first downtuned riff kicks in on the title track, you know exactly what you're in for: filthy, groove-laden death metal that worships at the altar of early Cannibal Corpse while maintaining its own hazy identity. The riffing is tight, the drumming pummels with that perfect blend of precision and chaos, and the dual vocal assault alternates between guttural lows and rasping highs that sound like someone gargling bong water. Tracks like "Staring Through My Eyes That Are Red" and "Reefer Stashed Place" don't just wink at the source material — they hotbox the entire room with it. What separates Cannabis Corpse from mere parody status is the sheer musical competence on display.
