Background information about 'Fighting Back'

Some bands just refuse to go quietly, and Cloven Hoof have never been the type to tiptoe out the back door. "Fighting Back" is the sound of a band planting both boots firmly in the ground, and it lands with the kind of swagger that only comes from decades of hard-won road scars. The riffs are thick and unapologetic, the rhythms march with a proud, almost defiant stomp, and the vocals carry that classic British steel grit — part preacher, part brawler, all attitude. This is heavy metal the way it was meant to be played: loud, proud, and completely unbothered by whatever the trend-chasers happen to be doing this week.

What makes this record such a joy is how effortlessly it balances muscle and melody. Just when you think you have the groove figured out, the band pivots into a soaring twin-guitar harmony or a chorus that lodges itself in your skull for days. The production, handled with real care, keeps everything punchy and immediate — no muddy walls of noise, just pure, unfiltered steel. There is a warmth here too, a sense of a group of musicians who genuinely love what they do and want you to feel every second of it. It is the kind of album that rewards repeat spins, revealing new details in the solos and the rhythm section's relentless drive each time you press play.
