Background information about 'Age Of Unreason'
ColdCell's "Age of Unreason" invites listeners into a profound exploration of the (un)reason of existence, weaving a tapestry of haunting soundscapes and abyssal energy. Emerging from the Swiss black metal underground, ColdCell has consistently pushed the boundaries of the genre with their atmospheric and introspective approach. This latest offering is no exception, presenting a sonic journey that is as dark and unsettling as it is poignant and reflective.
The album delves into societal abysses with an unflinching gaze, juxtaposing moments of crushing heaviness with ethereal passages that evoke both despair and transcendence. Highlights include the track "Meaningless," featuring mesmerizing guest vocals by Ines Brodbeck (INEZONA), which marks a poignant midpoint before cascading into the cathartic depths explored in tracks like "Sink Our Souls" and "Discord." Each composition on "Age of Unreason" serves as a testament to ColdCell's mastery over their craft—an intense meditation on the human condition that challenges the conventions of traditional black metal.
