Background information about 'Lights Out'

There are records that grab you by the collar from the very first riff and simply refuse to let go — Lights Out by Graveyard is exactly that kind of album. The Swedish four-piece has always had a knack for taking the raw, unpolished soul of late-sixties and seventies hard rock and dragging it kicking and screaming into the present, and on their third full-length they sound more alive than ever. There's a warmth here, a lived-in grit that you can practically feel through the speakers, as if the band plugged in, hit record, and let the magic happen in one glorious take.

From the swaggering opener to the slow-burning, blues-drenched closer, this is a record built on groove, heart, and the kind of honest songwriting that doesn't need studio tricks to hit home. The twin guitars weave around each other like old friends finishing each other's sentences, while the rhythm section keeps everything anchored in a deep, earthy pocket. Tracks like "The Apple & The Tree" and "Hard-Headed" show a band completely at ease with dynamics, shifting from hushed vulnerability to full-throttle fuzz without ever losing the thread. This is music for late nights, long drives, and anyone who still believes that rock 'n' roll should come with a little dirt under its fingernails.
