Background information about 'Doomsayer'
Hextar burst onto the Italian metal scene with all the fury and finesse of classic power metal's golden era. "Doomsayer" showcases a band that's clearly done their homework on the genre's foundational works, drawing heavily from early Helloween and Blind Guardian while maintaining their own distinctive Italian flair. The album is a testament to the band's commitment to crafting songs that are both anthemic and intricately structured, never falling into the trap of mindless complexity or boring predictability.
What really sets "Doomsayer" apart is Emiliano Zinà's commanding vocal performance, which displays an impressive range while staying firmly rooted in heavy metal heroism. His going-for-it approach brings genuine passion to every track, complemented by the band's tight musicianship and those absolutely killer guitar solos that slice through the mix like "dread swords." The production captures that classic metal warmth without sacrificing modern clarity, making this debut feel both nostalgic and refreshingly current.
For fans of: Helloween, Blind Guardian, early power metal, traditional heavy metal
