Background information about 'Witch'
For nearly two decades, In This Moment have been turning pain, power, and self-discovery into some of the most captivating and theatrical music modern hard rock has ever witnessed. With "Witch", the Grammy-nominated band flips the script yet again, delivering a record that feels both deeply personal and explosively confrontational.
Maria Brink has never sounded more commanding. Her vocals shift seamlessly from venomous snarls to hauntingly delicate passages, weaving through the cinematic production like a spell being cast in real time. The riffs are massive — thick, grooving, and dripping with atmosphere — while the rhythm section pummels with a precision that makes every track feel like a ritual. There's a dark, almost occult-like allure running through "Witch", but it never tips into parody. Instead, it feels like a genuine evolution, a band leaning harder into their theatrical instincts while keeping the songwriting razor-sharp. Tracks swell with orchestral flourishes, eerie synth beds, and that unmistakable sense of drama that only In This Moment can pull off without a hint of irony. This is heavy music that embraces vulnerability as much as vengeance, and the result is utterly magnetic.
