Background information about 'Back With A Bang'
"Back With A Bang" does exactly what it says on the tin. Kissin' Dynamite slam the door open with the title track and never let the pace drop, all gang-shout choruses, razor-wire riffing and a rhythm section that hits like a freight train. This is hard rock built for the last row of a sweaty club: big, brash, unapologetic, and delivered with the kind of grin that tells you the band knows precisely how good these hooks are. "My Monster" and "Raise Your Glass" come loaded with arena-sized refrains, while "Queen Of The Night" struts on a filthy groove that would make any self-respecting glam outfit jealous.
What keeps the record from being a simple nostalgia trip is the songwriting discipline underneath all that leather and volume. "The Devil Is A Woman" swings with a wicked sense of humour, "I Do It My Way" plants its flag with a defiant swagger, and "Iconic" aims straight for the rafters without ever feeling forced. There is craft here, real craft, the sort that comes from years on the road and a genuine love for the classics. When the band downshifts on "When The Lights Go Out", you can almost hear the lighters going up. It is loud, it is fun, and it is played like it matters.
