The Alpha Noir side is pure, unapologetic thrash-infused metal fury. Inspired by the likes of Bathory, King Diamond, Testament, and early Metallica, these eight tracks hit like a sledgehammer wrapped in barbed wire. From the crushing opener Axis Mundi to the relentless Lickanthrope, the band channels a raw aggression that'll have you punching the air. Moonspell prove they can hang with the heaviest while keeping their signature gothic darkness intact.

This is where the band pays homage to Type O Negative and The Sisters of Mercy, crafting an atmospheric, shadow-drenched soundscape that recalls their classic Irreligious era. New Tears Eve stands out as a particularly touching moment, dedicated to the late, great Peter Steele. Produced and mixed by Tue Madsen (who also handled Under Satanæ and Night Eternal), this half of the album breathes cold air, melancholic beauty, and haunting melodies.
