NEGURA BUNGET · Sala Molksa | DIGIPAK 2CD

Double CD in digipak. Limited to 2.000 copies.

Background information about 'Sala Molksa'

There is a moment on "Sala Molksa" where the guitars stop circling and the whole room seems to breathe — and that is exactly where Negura Bunget prove they were never just another black metal band. The Romanian trio take the raw, frostbitten template and bend it into something ritualistic: layered tremolo lines that twist into folk-tinged melodies, drums that roll and tumble rather than simply blast, and a sense of space that feels like standing in a fogged-in forest at dawn. Where "Zîrnindu-Sã" only hinted at what these musicians could do, this record delivers it whole, with arrangements that are genuinely complex yet never showy.

What makes it stick is the atmosphere. Negura Bunget understand that heaviness is not only volume — it is texture, patience and the way a riff can suddenly open into a wide, mournful chord that hits harder than any wall of distortion. The songs move in long arcs, building tension through repetition before breaking into passages that feel almost ceremonial. It is adventurous music, the kind that rewards repeated listening and keeps revealing new corners.

This re-release doubles the pleasure with a bonus CD containing a previously unreleased alternative recording of the entire EP — a fascinating look at how these pieces could shift shape in the studio. The first edition digipak is limited to 2.000 copies, so collectors should move fast.
