Background information about 'Age Of Aquarius'
Perturbator returns with "Age Of Aquarius", a haunting exploration into the darker territories of synthwave and darksynth. This latest offering showcases the French producer's evolution, blending his signature cyberpunk aesthetics with more expansive sonic landscapes. The album features collaborations with notable artists including Ulver on "Apocalypse Now", Author & Punisher on "Venus", Greta Link on "Lady Moon", and Alcest on the title track "Age of Aquarius". These partnerships bring fresh dimensions to Perturbator's already rich palette, creating moments of unexpected beauty within the album's dystopian framework.
The eleven-track journey moves through various moods and intensities, from the ominous opener to the contemplative closer. Tracks like "Lunacy" and "The Glass Staircase" demonstrate Perturbator's mastery of atmospheric tension, while "Hangover Square" and "The Art of War" showcase his ability to craft compelling narratives through purely instrumental means. The album maintains the cinematic quality that has made Perturbator a standout figure in the synthwave scene while pushing boundaries into more experimental territories.
