When Warlord founder William J. Tsamis tragically passed away on May 13, 2021, at just 60 years old, it seemed like the end of one of America's most creative metal formations. But surprisingly, Warlord struck back with a new lineup and a new studio album, "Free Spirit Soar" (on High Roller Records). Following that studio album, the same year brought the limited compilation "From The Ashes To The Archives – The Hot Pursuit Continues", which was meant to whet appetites for Warlord's 2024 festival tour with their new singer Giles Lavery (who also handles vocals for Jack Starr and Alcatrazz).

For these shows, Warlord had conceived something very special: before each performance, a new song was exclusively released on the internet. All four tracks appear on "The Lost Archangel" for the first time in physical form. Giles Lavery raves about those performances: "The reactions at these shows were incredible. They exceeded our wildest dreams. The fans sang every word with us – the energy from these festival audiences knew no bounds." The collection also features older and newer live recordings alongside reinterpretations of some Warlord classics, making it a thoroughly successful package for fans and collectors.
