Background information about 'Abramelin'
Abramelin's self-titled 1995 debut is a true landmark in the Australian Death Metal scene, and hearing it again after all these years hits like a sledgehammer to the skull. These Aussies weren't messing around when they laid down this slab of brutal, old-school death metal. At a time when the Florida sound and the Swedish scene were already morphing into something new, Abramelin took the opposite route - they simply got heavier, louder, and far more punishing.
The riffs on "Abramelin" are some of the most ferocious ever recorded Down Under. Tracks like "Grave Ideals" and "Spiritual Justice" are pure, unadulterated death metal fury, while the deranged lyrical themes brim with unbridled violence and chaos. This is the kind of record that made the underground sit up and take notice, earning its reputation as a classic among death metal diehards. Now finally available again on CD, this long overdue re-issue brings back a true hidden gem from one of Australia's most overlooked extreme metal acts. If you've been digging for that raw, unfiltered mid-90s brutality, this is exactly what your collection has been missing.
