Background information about 'Absolut Country Of Sweden'
Swedish hardcore punk legends Anti Cimex delivered something truly special with "Absolut Country Of Sweden" back in 1990, and this deluxe vinyl reissue proves why this album remains a cornerstone of Scandinavian extreme music. The band's debut full-length perfectly captures the raw intensity and uncompromising spirit that made them absolute pioneers of the Nordic hardcore scene, blending crushing punk aggression with metallic heaviness that would influence countless bands for decades to come. Tracks like "Under The Sun" and "Going Down" showcase their ability to craft memorable hooks while maintaining that vital edge of danger and rebellion.
What makes this album so compelling is how Anti Cimex managed to evolve their sound from their earlier thrash-influenced work into something more mature yet equally ferocious. The production gives each track room to breathe while preserving that essential underground grit, and songs like "Sister Daylight" and the epic closing track "Rose" demonstrate a band at the peak of their creative powers. This isn't just a historical artifact - it's a living, breathing testament to the power of authentic punk rock fury.
