Black vinyl in standard cover.

Background information about 'La Cité Des Vents'

Aorlhac delivers a masterpiece of atmospheric black metal that transcends typical genre boundaries with "La Cité Des Vents". This French collective has crafted something truly special here – a sonic journey through the windswept landscapes of Occitan heritage that feels both ancient and urgently contemporary. The album opens with "A la croisée des vents II", immediately establishing an epic scope that carries through tracks like "Le bûcher des Cathares" and the title track "Sant Flor, la cité des vents". Each composition weaves historical narratives with crushing riffs and haunting melodies that capture the essence of southern France's turbulent past.

What sets this release apart is Aorlhac's commitment to storytelling through their native cultural lens. Tracks like "Le miroir des péchés" and "La comptine du drac" showcase the band's ability to balance ferocious black metal intensity with moments of breathtaking beauty. The inclusion of a Taake cover ("Over Bjoergvin graater himmerik IV") demonstrates their deep respect for the Norwegian black metal tradition while maintaining their distinctly French identity. This is black metal with soul, purpose, and an unshakeable connection to place and history.
