Background information about 'An Old Storm Brewing'

From the mountainous depths of Switzerland emerges Arcturon, ready to claim their rightful place on the melodic death metal throne with "An Old Storm Brewing". This is no ordinary debut – it's a thunderous declaration that true melodic death metal still has teeth, and these Swiss warriors aren't afraid to bare them. While countless bands drift toward sanitized, radio-friendly territories, Arcturon plants their flag firmly in brutal authenticity, delivering eleven tracks of uncompromising ferocity that'll leave your speakers begging for mercy.

The production quality here is absolutely stellar, courtesy of the legendary Abyss Studios in Sweden with Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry) behind the boards. Every riff cuts through like a blade, every blast beat hits with surgical precision, and the growls carry that perfect balance of brutality and clarity that separates the wheat from the chaff. The band's commitment to staying clear of clean vocals pays dividends throughout, creating a cohesive sonic assault that never lets up. This is melodic death metal as it should be – technical, brutal, and utterly captivating.

For fans of:
Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, At The Gates, Scar Symmetry
