Background information about 'Dead Mother Moon'

UPON STONE have delivered a devastating debut with Dead Mother Moon, and let's be honest – this is exactly the kind of melodic death metal we've been craving. From the very first riff of the title track, the band makes it clear they're not here to mess around. The album is a beautiful, brutal collision of old-school Swedish death metal melody and the raw, punk-infused energy of the early 2000s US metalcore scene.

Tracks like "Onyx Through the Heart" and "My Destiny; a Weapon" are absolute bangers, packed with razor-sharp riffs and throat-shredding vocals. But the real standout might be "Paradise Failed", featuring Brian Fair of Shadows Fall – a track that perfectly bridges the gap between Gothenburg-style melody and Massachusetts hardcore grit. The production is crisp but not over-polished, giving every guitar harmony room to breathe while keeping the drums punchy and aggressive. This is an album that rewards repeated listens, revealing new layers of melodic complexity with each spin.
