Background information about 'Phalanx Inferna'
Austrian black metal titans Asmodeus unleash pure sonic devastation with "Phalanx Inferna", a masterpiece that bridges the gap between Swedish black metal's icy brutality and melodic death metal's technical prowess. This isn't just another black metal release – it's a carefully crafted assault on the senses that demonstrates why Asmodeus stands among the elite of European extreme metal. From the haunting "Intermezzo" that opens this hellish journey to the crushing finale of "Acceding The Throne Of Devastation", every track pulses with malevolent energy and razor-sharp precision.
The band's ability to weave melodic death metal influences into their blackest harsh sounds creates a dynamic listening experience that never loses its edge. Tracks like "Phalanx Inferna" and "Summon The Horde" showcase their mastery of full-speed rhythms while maintaining the atmospheric darkness that defines quality black metal. The production captures every nuance of their blackest lyrics and crushing instrumentation, making this essential listening for anyone serious about extreme metal.
