Background information about 'Manslayer'
Manslayer is a name that's been buzzing in the underground, and their latest offering "Brat" is the kind of record that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. Hailing from New Orleans, this band has carved out a ferocious niche for themselves with what they call "Bimboviolence" or "Barbiecore" — a sonic assault that marries the raw aggression of hardcore, death grind, and power violence with a gloriously over-the-top Y2K-inspired feminine aesthetic. Think blastbeats colliding with bubblegum pop samples, and you're only scratching the surface.
"Brat" is a relentless, 25-minute firestorm that refuses to play by anyone's rules. From the moment the first track kicks in, you're hit with a wall of razor-sharp riffs, pummeling drums, and vocals that sound like they're being torn straight from the gut. But just when you think you've got them figured out, Manslayer throws in a twisted pop culture sample or a melody that's almost catchy — before burying it under another avalanche of distortion. It's chaotic, confrontational, and absolutely electrifying. This isn't metal for the faint of heart; it's for those who love their music dangerous, unpredictable, and dripping with attitude. Manslayer isn't just making noise — they're making a statement.
