Background information about 'Chaos Horrific'

There are few bands who can claim to be the undisputed kings of their genre, but Cannibal Corpse has held that throne for over three and a half decades now. With Chaos Horrific, the Florida death metal institution returned in 2023 to mark their 35th anniversary in the most fitting way possible: by delivering yet another slab of uncompromising, technically ferocious brutality. This is the 16th studio album from a band that simply refuses to slow down, and it picks up right where Violence Unimagined left off, keeping the streak of relentless, razor-sharp death metal burning brighter than ever.

From the moment George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher opens his throat, you know exactly what you are in for. His iconic, guttural roar sits front and center over a maelstrom of blast beats, dive-bomb riffs and bass work that rattles the very foundations. Lyrically, the record dives headfirst into tales of carnage, decay and apocalyptic horror, all delivered with the kind of precision and conviction that only these veterans could muster. Tracks like Summoned For Sacrifice and Blood Blind are pure, undiluted death metal fury, while the title track Chaos Horrific is a masterclass in controlled aggression. There is a reason this band has outlasted trends, lineups and entire subgenres: they simply do it better than anyone else. This is death metal as it was always meant to sound, monstrous, muscular and completely unapologetic.
