CANNIBAL CORPSE · Violence Unimagined | PICTURE DISC LP

Picture disc featuring the iconic artwork of Vince Locke in standard cover.

Background information about 'Violence Unimagined'

Cannibal Corpse have been the undisputed kings of American death metal for over three decades now, and Violence Unimagined is the moment they proved they're not slowing down one bit. Their fifteenth full-length landed in 2021 like a blood-soaked wrecking ball, and honestly, it might be the most vicious thing they've committed to tape in years. This is the sound of a band completely in command of their craft — the riffs are razor-sharp, the drumming is an absolute clinic in precision brutality, and George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher's vocal delivery remains one of the most terrifying instruments in all of extreme music.

What makes this record so special is how effortlessly it balances old-school savagery with modern technicality. Tracks like "Murderous Rampage" and "Inhumane Harvest" hit with the kind of groove that'll snap your neck, while the sheer rhythmic violence of the whole thing never lets up for a second. Producer Erik Rutan, who also joined the band on guitar for this one, brings a clarity to the mix that lets every guttural, every blast beat, every squealing solo breathe while still sounding absolutely enormous. It's death metal done the way it's supposed to be done — relentless, horrifying, and utterly addictive.

The gruesome cover art from long-time collaborator Vince Locke is the perfect visual counterpart to the lyrical horror show within. This is state-of-the-art death metal from a band that essentially wrote the rulebook, and they're still out here reminding everyone why they sit on the throne.
