Background information about 'Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul'
There is a moment in every band's life when the whole thing gets stripped down to the studs and someone finally asks the uncomfortable question: what actually makes us who we are? Celestial Sanctuary took that question and turned it into a battering ram. "Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul" is the UK death metal crew refusing to bend toward anyone else's blueprint, and you can hear that stubbornness in every riff that lands like a dropped anvil.
Scott Atkins handled production, mixing and mastering, and the result is a record that feels wide open and suffocating at the same time — guitars that grind, drums that hit with real physical weight, and a vocal performance that sounds like it was dragged out of the ground. James Bousema's artwork pulls the album's gruesome historical world right to the surface, all rot and reverence, and it fits the music like a glove. This is a band embracing its full metal DNA instead of trimming it down for comfort, and the payoff is a set of songs that are aggressive, memorable and genuinely their own. Bold by design, foul by choice, and all the better for it.
