Background information about 'Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul'

There comes a moment in every heavy band's life when the scaffolding has to come down and the bones get inspected. Celestial Sanctuary hit that moment head-on with "Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul", and what they found underneath is a leaner, nastier, more focused beast than anything they have summoned before. This is UK death metal with its jaw set, refusing to sand down the edges just because someone out there has a tidy little box waiting for it. The riffs land like dropped anvils, the low end has real weight, and the whole thing moves with the confidence of players who finally know exactly who they are.

Recorded with Scott Atkins handling production, mixing and mastering, the record sounds enormous without ever feeling airbrushed. You can hear the room, you can hear the strings fight back, and that grit is precisely the point. James Bousema's artwork wraps the whole thing in a gruesome historical world that fits the music like a glove, all rot and reverence in equal measure. What really sticks, though, is the songwriting. These tracks are built to be remembered, not just endured, and that is a rarer thing in this corner of the genre than anyone likes to admit. Bold, aggressive and genuinely memorable by design, this is a band tearing up the map and drawing their own borders on the back of it.
