Background information about 'From Blue To Black'

Crisix have never been a band to do things by halves, and with "From Blue To Black" the Catalonian thrash machine once again proves they are the party-thrash overlords we all secretly need. From the very first riff of "Conspiranoia" you know exactly what you are in for: razor-sharp palm-muted chugs, galloping rhythms that would make a horse jealous, and the kind of gang-shout choruses that demand a fist in the air within seconds. This is thrash metal played with the throttle pinned wide open, dripping with the swagger of the classic Bay Area sound but shot through with a distinctly southern European heat.

What makes this record such a joy is the sheer conviction behind it. Tracks like "Journey Through The Fire" and "G.G.M. (The Gret Metal Motherfucker)" burst with personality, the latter throwing tongue-in-cheek swagger straight into your face while the riffs keep pummeling away. The title track "From Blue To Black" slows things down just enough to feel epic without losing momentum, and the closing "Fallen" stretches out into a seven-minute epic that shows a more atmospheric side of the band. Crisix do not reinvent the wheel here, but they sure as hell set it on fire and roll it down a hill. If you ever loved the golden age of thrash but want it served with a grin and a cold beer, this is your record.
