From the opening riff of "Unspeakable" you know you're in for a different kind of ride — it's sludgy, it's groovy, and it's got that weirdly hypnotic swagger only Danzig can pull off.
The title track "Satan's Child" is pure, unadulterated Glenn — all bluesy doom and venomous charisma. But it's tracks like "Five Finger Crawl" and "Into the Mouth of Abandonment" where the album really finds its stride, blending doom-laden riffs with electronic undertones that still feel surprisingly fresh today. John Christ may have been gone (and let's be honest, that was a massive loss), but Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains fame stepped in on guitar for this one, adding his own grimy fingerprints to the record.
