What happens when you lock a bunch of seasoned Swedish death metal maniacs in a room and tell them to just let it rip? You get Death Breath, the gloriously putrid side project featuring none other than Nicke Andersson (the mastermind behind Entombed's early classics) alongside members of The Hellacopters and other Scandinavian underground royalty. Let It Stink is exactly what the title promises — a filthy, unapologetic love letter to the early days of death metal when production was raw, riffs were ugly, and the whole thing smelled like a rotting corpse.

This collection compiles seven new and unreleased tracks that sound like they were dredged up from a swamp in 1989. The opener Giving Head To The Dead kicks the door in with that signature Stockholm buzzsaw guitar tone we all worship — you know the one, the HM-2 pedal cranked to absolute oblivion. His Protoplasmic Worship and Maimed And Slaughtered follow suit with the kind of primitive, Neanderthal riffing that reminds you why you fell in love with this genre in the first place. There's no prog nonsense here, no symphonic wankery — just pure, uncut death metal filth delivered with the swagger of guys who've been doing this longer than most of their fans have been alive. The groove on Dead But Walking is downright infectious, and the band's take on Bathory's Sacrifice is a masterclass in paying homage while making a track your own.

What makes this release essential is the bonus video content — you get the official Death Breath clip plus the Wrath Of The Corpse Version, both dripping with the same gory, tongue-in-cheek aesthetic that makes this project so damn fun.
