Background information about 'Mourningstar'

Norwegian black metal outfit Nattehimmel delivers a captivating journey through cosmic darkness with "Mourningstar", an album that seamlessly blends atmospheric black metal with mythological storytelling. The record opens with the haunting "Mourningstar (Intro)" before launching into the mesmerizing "Astrologer", setting the tone for an epic exploration of celestial themes and ancient wisdom. Tracks like "Each Man a Constellation" and "Armies of Tiamat" showcase the band's ability to weave intricate melodies with crushing riffs, while maintaining that essential black metal rawness that fans crave.

The album's second half continues this stellar momentum with standout tracks such as "Mountain of the Northern Kings" and "Realm of Hades", where Nattehimmel demonstrates their mastery of creating atmospheric landscapes that feel both vast and intimate. The closing track "The Night Sky Beckons" serves as a perfect finale, leaving listeners yearning for more celestial adventures. The production strikes an excellent balance between clarity and that signature black metal grit, allowing every instrument to breathe while maintaining the genre's characteristic intensity.
