Background information about 'Kadath'
"Kadath" by The Great Old Ones transports listeners into the surreal world of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath." This album is a sonic journey through the Dreamlands, capturing the ethereal and ominous nature of Randolph Carter's quest for the magnificent city forbidden by the gods. With its seven tracks, the album paints a vivid picture of dreamlike beauty intertwined with lurking dread, all underscored by a masterful blend of atmospheric post-black metal sounds.
Recorded at Studio Sainte-Marthe with producer Francis Caste, "Kadath" stands as a testament to The Great Old Ones' ability to craft an immersive musical experience. Each composition is a delicate balance between haunting melodies and intense crescendos, evoking both wonder and terror in equal measure. Fans of Lovecraftian themes will appreciate the intricate storytelling embedded within each track, as the band continues to push boundaries in atmospheric black metal.
