Background information about 'Stille (Das nagende Schweigen)'
Another stunning opus from Nocte Obducta, one of Germany's most compelling metal acts, "Stille (Das nagende Schweigen)" marks a fascinating evolution in their sound. This release showcases the band venturing into more introspective territory, crafting a deeply emotional and atmospheric journey that feels both familiar and refreshingly different. The album is notably more depressive, slower, and darker than any of their previous works, creating an almost meditative quality that draws listeners into its melancholic embrace.
What makes this release particularly captivating is how Nocte Obducta seamlessly blends emotional melodic black/death metal with occasional forays into gentler musical landscapes. At certain moments, there's an undeniable proximity to Opeth's progressive sensibilities, demonstrating the band's commitment to diversity and musical exploration. The album received impressive critical acclaim, earning a 12/15 from Legacy, 5/7 from Hammer, and a perfect 10/10 from Bloodchamber, testament to its artistic achievement and emotional depth.
