Background information about 'I Blodi Og Anda'
Originally released in 2002, "Í Blóði og Anda" marks the primal and raw origins of Iceland's Solstafir. This debut offering is a far cry from the atmospheric post-rock sound the band evolved into over the years. Instead, it channels raw energy reminiscent of early Enslaved, blending Icelandic mysticism with ferocious black metal roots. The album paints vivid soundscapes that are both haunting and exhilarating, capturing the listener's imagination with its unrefined authenticity.
The 2013 reissue brings this seminal work back into circulation after years of being out-of-print. Remastered for clarity and depth while retaining its original spirit, "Í Blóði og Anda" is a must-listen for fans of intense and immersive metal journeys. This release offers a unique glimpse into Solstafir's formative years, showcasing their transition from black metal origins to their current avant-garde soundscapes.
