Background information about 'Pesten Som Tar Over'

Norwegian black metal titans Den Saakaldte return with their devastating third full-length "Pesten Som Tar Over", a relentless assault that showcases the band's evolution into even darker territories. The album translates to "The Plague That Takes Over" and lives up to its ominous title through seven tracks of pure atmospheric malevolence. From the opening inferno of "Av Satans Ild" to the closing storm of "Den Stormen i Oktober", the band weaves together traditional Norwegian black metal elements with haunting melodies that burrow deep into the listener's psyche.

The production maintains that raw, uncompromising edge that defines the genre while allowing each instrument to breathe within the maelstrom. Tracks like "Dødstrett Av Alt" and the title track "Pesten Som Tar Over" demonstrate the band's ability to balance ferocious blast beats with moments of eerie calm, creating a dynamic listening experience that never loses its grip on darkness. The Norwegian lyrics add an authentic layer of mysticism that enhances the album's apocalyptic atmosphere.

For fans of: Mayhem, Darkthrone, Emperor and Satyricon
