Background information about 'Breaking The Chains'
Dokken's debut album "Breaking The Chains" stands as a monumental achievement in 1980s hard rock, showcasing the band's incredible chemistry between Don Dokken's soaring vocals and George Lynch's blistering guitar work. Originally released in 1981, this record captures the raw energy and melodic sensibilities that would define the band's signature sound. The album features classic tracks like "Breaking The Chains", "In The Middle", and "Paris Is Burning", each demonstrating the perfect balance between heavy riffs and memorable hooks that made Dokken pioneers of the melodic metal movement.
The production on this album perfectly captures the band's live energy while maintaining the polish necessary for radio play. Lynch's guitar solos are absolutely scorching throughout, particularly on tracks like "Live To Rock (Rock To Live)" and "Stick To Your Guns", while the rhythm section of Juan Croucier and Mick Brown provides the thunderous foundation. This reissue on translucent red vinyl brings new life to these timeless compositions, allowing fans to experience the full dynamic range of Dokken's most essential work in stunning analog format.
