Background information about 'Equinox'
Equilibrium returns with their most ambitious and spiritually charged offering yet on "Equinox" – a masterwork that perfectly balances the band's signature folk-infused symphonic metal with darker, more introspective themes. The German powerhouse has crafted thirteen tracks that feel like ancient rituals brought to life through crushing modern metal arrangements. From the haunting opener "Earth Tongue" to the epic journey of "Nexus", this album showcases the band's evolution while honoring their roots in both Celtic mysticism and crushing metal dynamics.
The production is absolutely pristine, allowing every orchestral flourish and thunderous drum hit to breathe while maintaining that raw energy that made fans fall in love with Equilibrium in the first place. Tracks like "Legends" and "Bloodwood" demonstrate the band's ability to weave storytelling into their compositions, creating immersive soundscapes that transport listeners to otherworldly realms. The interplay between clean vocals and harsh growls has never been more refined, while the folk instruments dance seamlessly with crushing guitar work.
