Background information about 'Scherben'
Von Branden delivers a crushing blow to the metal scene with "Scherben", a German heavy metal masterpiece that seamlessly weaves together English and German lyrical content into nine tracks of pure metallic fury. This powerhouse album showcases the band's ability to craft both thunderous anthems and atmospheric compositions, with standout tracks like "Behind The Rain" opening the assault with over six minutes of relentless riffing, while "Ignoranzkult" demonstrates their mastery of German metal traditions.
The album's emotional depth shines through tracks like "Vergessen" and "Zwischen Welten", where Von Branden explores themes of loss, forgotten memories, and the space between worlds with haunting melodies that stick long after the final note fades. The closing track "Winter" serves as a perfect finale, capturing the cold brutality and beauty that defines this exceptional release. With production that allows every crushing riff and thunderous drum beat to breathe, "Scherben" stands as a testament to German heavy metal's enduring power.
