German extreme metal act Gorleben delivers a chilling prophecy with "Menetekel", an apocalyptic warning that serves as both musical statement and existential alarm bell. Founded in 2010, the band has crafted their signature sound as an apocalyptic mixture of death, doom, and black metal, enriched with clean vocals and atmospheric synthesizer elements that create an unsettling sonic landscape. This four-track opus uses time as its central narrative device, bringing the predicted apocalypse into our present reality and making it tangible from multiple temporal dimensions.

The album's concept revolves around the destruction of civilization and humanity's voracious appetite for self-destruction. Each track inevitably reflects the path toward an uncertain future, with Gorleben peering from an unknown future into our bleak present. The biblical reference "mene tekel upharsin" - the writing on the wall - serves as the album's thematic foundation, delivering a stark message about impending doom.
