Background information about 'In The Dawn Of November'
Known for their crushing riffs and fuzz-drenched guitar tones, Phoenix's own GOYA reemerges with "In The Dawn of November," a masterpiece that delves deep into the realms of doom metal. Drawing inspiration from legends like Electric Wizard and Sleep, the band's fourth offering is a monolithic journey through graveyard grooves and bleak themes. Recorded under the seasoned guidance of producer Jack Endino in Seattle during the fall of 2024, this album encapsulates a haunting blend of occult-tinged lyrics intertwined with hypnotic soundscapes.
The musical landscape painted by GOYA on this record is both immersive and punishing, echoing their established legacy in the underground metal scene. Their return to form is marked by sprawling compositions that demand attention, each track a testament to their mastery over doom-laden aesthetics. As they continue to craft eerie atmospheres filled with psychedelic undertones, "In The Dawn of November" stands as a towering beacon in GOYA's discography — an invitation to drown in their sludge metal majesty.
