Background information about 'The Sickness Within (Remaster 2026)'
Some records don't just age well — they come back meaner. "The Sickness Within" was already the moment HateSphere stopped being a promising Danish thrash outfit and became a genuine problem for anyone who thought the genre had run out of ideas. Now, twenty years on, the whole thing gets dragged back into the light with a 2026 remaster, and honestly, it hits harder than most of what's landing on desks this year.
The riffs are still the star of the show: razor-wire tight, built for the pit, with that unmistakable European thrash bite that sits somewhere between the Bay Area's precision and Gothenburg's cold-blooded melody. What the remaster does is give the low end room to breathe — the bass finally punches through, the drums crack instead of thud, and the guitars get a nasty, gleaming edge that makes every palm-muted gallop feel like a fist closing. Esben Hansen's vocals remain the secret weapon, a raw, throat-shredding bark that never tips into parody. It's aggressive, it's lean, and it refuses to apologise for any of it.
