Background information about 'Battles In The North (Alternative Artwork)'

This 2021 reissue of Immortal's legendary 1995 masterpiece "Battles In The North" comes with striking alternative artwork that gives fresh visual dimension to one of black metal's most influential albums. The Norwegian black metal titans delivered their most ferocious and atmospheric statement with this release, showcasing their ability to blend relentless aggression with epic, frost-bitten melodies that transport listeners to the mythical realm of Blashyrkh.

The album stands as a monument to second-wave Norwegian black metal, featuring Abbath's distinctive raspy vocals and intricate guitar work alongside Demonaz's compelling songwriting. Tracks like "Grim And Frostbitten Kingdoms" and the title track "Battles In The North" demonstrate the band's mastery of creating vast, windswept soundscapes while maintaining the raw intensity that defined the genre. The production captures that perfect balance between clarity and the harsh, unforgiving atmosphere that makes this album essential listening for anyone exploring the depths of extreme metal.

For fans of: Mayhem, Emperor, Darkthrone, Burzum and Bathory
