Background information about 'From The Grave'
Chilean metallers Iron Spell have truly outdone themselves with "From The Grave", their second full-length that reads like a love letter to classic '80s heavy metal horror. This isn't just another retro throwback - it's a masterclass in how to channel the spirit of the golden age while maintaining your own distinct identity. The Santiago-based quintet, led by the dramatically versatile vocalist Merciless, takes listeners on a spine-tingling journey through every corner of traditional heavy metal, from cocksure hard rock anthems to fleet-fingered speed metal assaults.
What makes "From The Grave" so compelling is how effortlessly Iron Spell weaves together their horror-themed narratives with genuinely captivating songcraft. The album flows like the soundtrack to some lost '80s horror flick, complete with moody supernatural explorations, backstreet strutters, and even an eerie instrumental piece. After 41 minutes of pure metallic bliss, culminating in the chilling epic "Children Of The Night", you'll find yourself completely under their spell and ready to rise from the grave yourself.
