Background information about 'Wounds Of Desolation'

Norway's ISOLERT delivers a crushing sophomore statement with "Wounds Of Desolation", an album that plunges listeners into the abyss of human suffering and existential dread. The band crafts a sonic landscape where traditional Norwegian black metal meets atmospheric doom passages, creating eight tracks of pure melancholic devastation. From the haunting intro "The Downfall's Monologue" to the closing despair of "Reflections of Nothingness", ISOLERT weaves together tremolo-picked melodies with crushing mid-tempo sections that feel like watching civilization crumble in slow motion.

The production perfectly captures the band's vision - raw enough to maintain that essential black metal bite, yet clear enough to let every nuance of despair shine through. Tracks like "Flesh. Torn. Asunder!" and "Spewing Venomous Gloom" showcase the band's ability to balance relentless aggression with moments of haunting beauty, while "Children of the Void" stands as a monument to atmospheric black metal mastery. ISOLERT has created something truly special here, an album that doesn't just play - it haunts you long after the final note fades.
