Background information about 'No Need To Reason'
There is something wonderfully unsettling about "No Need To Reason". Kontinuum built this record like a slow-burning Icelandic winter — sparse, cold, and impossibly wide. The guitars don't so much riff as they drift, layering clean, reverb-soaked lines over a rhythm section that knows exactly when to hold back and when to hit hard. It's black metal in spirit and post-rock in execution, and the tension between those two worlds is what makes the whole thing so gripping.
What strikes hardest is the restraint. Tracks like "Lifelust" and "Warm Blood" take their time, letting melodies breathe before the distortion finally crashes in, and when it does, it lands with real weight. The vocals sit buried just deep enough to feel like another instrument rather than a narrator, which suits the album's refusal to hand you easy answers. By the time "Black Feather" closes things out, you're not exhausted — you're somewhere else entirely, and you want to go back.
