Background information about 'Boundless'
"Boundless" by Long Distance Calling stands as a testament to the band's mastery over instrumental post-rock. Released in 2018, this album reflects the group's dedication to crafting immersive auditory landscapes without the need for lyrical guidance. The album is an exploration of dynamic contrasts and intricate melodies, evoking a sense of freedom and boundlessness that its title suggests. The absence of vocals allows the listener to fully engage with the instrumental narrative, which is both meditative and exhilarating.
Instrumental tracks like "Out There" and "In The Clouds" transport listeners through atmospheric soundscapes that are both ethereal and grounded in rock solid instrumentation. Long Distance Calling's ability to convey emotion purely through their instruments is on full display throughout "Boundless." From soaring guitars to driving percussion, each track seamlessly transitions into the next, building towards an exhilarating crescendo. This album is an essential listen for fans of post-rock and instrumental music alike, showcasing a band at the peak of their creative powers.
