Background information about 'Waves'
Moving Mountains deliver something truly special with "Waves" - an album that captures the essence of emotional hardcore with incredible depth and maturity. The NYC-based outfit has crafted ten tracks that flow seamlessly between crushing heaviness and delicate atmospheric passages, creating a listening experience that feels both intimate and expansive. Songs like "My Life Is Like A Chase Dream (And I'm Still Having Chase Dreams)" and "The Cascade" showcase the band's ability to build tension through careful dynamics, while tracks such as "Tired Tiger" and "Alleviate" demonstrate their knack for memorable hooks wrapped in layers of thoughtful instrumentation.
What makes "Waves" particularly compelling is how Moving Mountains balance aggression with vulnerability throughout the record. The album's emotional core shines through in moments like "Where Two Bodies Lie" and the closing "Full Circle", where the band explores themes of connection and loss with genuine sincerity. The production allows every element to breathe while maintaining the raw energy that makes this music so impactful - from the intricate guitar work to the passionate vocal delivery that drives each song forward.
