Background information about 'Addicts - Black Meddle Pt. II'

There are records that simply refuse to sit still, and "Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. II" is one of them. Nachtmystium took the raw, frostbitten black metal of their early years and shoved it headlong into the neon glow of psychedelia, krautrock and good old-fashioned rock'n'roll swagger. The result is a record that sounds like a bad trip you never want to end, all swirling guitars, hypnotic grooves and that unmistakable, sneering vocal edge.

This is the sound of a band throwing the rulebook out the window and grinning about it. Tracks like "High On Hate" and "No Funeral" pulse with a dark, narcotic energy, while the sprawling "Every Last Drop" closes things out in a haze of fuzz and feedback. The production is warm, thick and a little dangerous, the kind of record that rewards you more with every spin. It's black metal, sure, but it's also so much more: a strange, beautiful collision of shadow and light that still sounds vital years on.
