Background information about 'Abhorrent Endings'
New Lows deliver a devastating sonic assault with "Abhorrent Endings", a crushing mini-LP that showcases the band's mastery of brutal, uncompromising sludge metal. This five-track powerhouse wastes no time in establishing its violent intent, opening with the title track's relentless barrage of crushing riffs and pummeling rhythms. The band channels pure aggression through every note, creating an atmosphere of controlled chaos that feels both cathartic and utterly destructive.
The album's brief runtime works entirely in its favor – these songs hit like sledgehammers, leaving no room for filler or unnecessary embellishment. Tracks like "There's No Roses In The Rubble" and "Carving Crosses" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks within their wall of distortion, while "Osaka Sun" provides a brief moment of atmospheric breathing space before the final assault. The production captures every ounce of the band's raw power, with guitar tones that could level buildings and a rhythm section that pounds with mechanical precision.
