Background information about 'Scalding Coldness'
From the frozen wastelands beyond the Arctic Circle comes Old Wainds' third full-length assault, and what a monumental shift it represents! "Scalding Coldness" marks the moment when these Russian black metal veterans stepped into proper studio territory without losing an ounce of their trademark savagery. This isn't just evolution – it's black metal perfection crystallized into eight tracks of pure hatred and arctic fury.
The production leap here is staggering, yet Old Wainds haven't softened their approach one bit. Instead, they've harnessed that clarity to deliver their most devastating blow yet. The melodies cut deeper, the atmosphere feels more suffocating, and every blast beat hits like a sledgehammer to the skull. At over 40 minutes, "Scalding Coldness" proves that even with enhanced production values, true black metal spirit cannot be tamed – it only becomes more lethal.
