Outlaw formed back in 2015 in São Paulo, Brazil, and have since relocated to Hamburg, Germany — and you can feel that transatlantic restlessness coursing through every second of Reaching Beyond Assiah, their third full-length. This is black metal that refuses to sit still, that treats atmosphere not as a fog to hide in but as a weapon to wield.

From the opening surge of "Bliss of Soul" through the scorched-earth fury of "To Burn This World and Dissolve The Flesh," the record moves with a kind of desperate momentum that's hard to shake. The riffing is razor-sharp and melodic in all the right places, never content to simply bludgeon when it can also soar. Tracks like "The Unending Night" and "Everything That Becomes Nothing" show a band that's learned how to balance raw aggression with genuine songcraft, letting the melodies breathe before dragging you back into the maelstrom. And the title track, "Reaching Beyond Assiah," closes the whole thing with a sense of grim finality that lingers long after the last note fades. This is a band hitting its stride, and it's a joy to witness.
