Background information about 'Altaar'
ALTAAR is not just a band – it's a ritual. This self-titled debut from the Norwegian duo is a crushing, atmospheric journey into the cold, raw heart of black metal. From the very first notes, you're dragged into a soundscape that feels both ancient and utterly devastating. The production is raw enough to retain that essential underground bite, yet clear enough to let every menacing riff and blast beat hit you with full force.
The two tracks on this album, "Tidi Kjem Aldri Att" and "Dei Absolutte Krav Og Den Absolutte Nade," are sprawling, epic compositions that never overstay their welcome. There's a hypnotic, almost meditative quality to the relentless drumming and the wall of distorted guitars, while the vocals sound like they're being channeled from some deep, frostbitten abyss. This is black metal that understands the power of atmosphere and repetition – building tension, releasing it in waves of pure, unfiltered aggression. It's a debut that announces a new force with quiet confidence and absolute conviction.
