Background information about 'Scream'
Ozzy Osbourne's tenth studio album "Scream" marked a significant return to form for the Prince of Darkness in 2010. Working with producer Kevin Churko, who had previously helmed albums for Five Finger Death Punch and Shania Twain, Ozzy crafted his heaviest and most focused collection of songs in years. The album features his longtime collaborator Gus G. on guitar (replacing Zakk Wylde), alongside bassist Blasko and drummer Tommy Clufetos, creating a tight, modern metal sound that bridges classic Ozzy with contemporary production values.
The record kicks off with the crushing "Let It Die" before launching into the anthemic title track "Let Me Hear You Scream", which became a radio favorite and showcased Ozzy's voice in surprisingly strong form. Tracks like "Soul Sucker" and "Diggin' Me Down" demonstrate the band's ability to blend melodic sensibilities with crushing riffs, while "I Love You All" serves as a touching closer that reveals Ozzy's more vulnerable side. The album successfully balances aggression with accessibility, proving that even decades into his career, the godfather of heavy metal could still deliver the goods.
